The Agentic AI Foundation announced its expanded 2026 global events program on April 17, with the European flagship event set for Amsterdam on September 17-18.

AGNTCon + MCPCon Europe will bring together AI agent builders, model providers, enterprise adopters, and developers working on the protocols and frameworks needed for production agent systems. A North American edition is also planned for later in the year, with dates and location to be confirmed.

⚡ New to this?

AGNTCon is a new conference series focused entirely on AI agents and the protocols that connect them. MCP Dev Summits are hands-on developer events where people build with the Model Context Protocol. This is the first time events like this are happening at this scale.

If you are in Europe and build with AI agents or MCP, Amsterdam in September is worth blocking in your calendar. MCP Dev Summits are hands-on, not just talks. Bring your laptop and a project you want to wire up to MCP.

Supporting the flagship events, the AAIF is running MCP Dev Summits across 10 cities globally. These are smaller, hands-on developer gatherings focused on building with MCP, Goose, and AGENTS.md. The Bengaluru summit is already confirmed for June 9-10, with additional summits planned for cities across Asia, Africa, and the Americas throughout the rest of 2026.

Mazin Gilbert, AAIF Executive Director, said the program reflects growing demand for open, vendor-neutral infrastructure for AI agents. The events aim to turn standards conversations into real systems running in production. The NYC summit in April demonstrated the appetite for this kind of gathering, with 1,200 attendees and standing-room-only technical sessions.

The Amsterdam location is notable for European attendees. The Netherlands has a growing AI ecosystem, major cloud provider data centers in the region, and strong open-source communities. Having a major agentic AI conference there removes the need to travel to the US for this kind of event. For Dutch-based builders in particular, it is a chance to connect with the global MCP community without leaving the country.

Registration is expected to open in the coming weeks. Based on the NYC event, early registration is recommended since technical sessions had capacity limits. The AAIF website will publish the speaker lineup and session schedule as they are finalized.

For self-hosted agent operators, these events offer direct access to the people writing the MCP spec, the maintainers of Goose and AGENTS.md, and enterprise teams sharing real deployment patterns. The combination of talks, workshops, and networking makes them more practical than watching conference recordings after the fact.

Whether you attend in person or follow the recordings, the 2026 AAIF events program signals that agentic AI has its own conference circuit now, separate from the broader AI hype cycle. The community is large enough and the technology mature enough to support dedicated events at scale.
